Introduction to ctmx.net. 28th June 2026.
Hello to all in the Classic off- Road Community.
I have started to relearn Website administration after a gap of about 20 years.
I am now 80 years old. So, please, please bear with me. Eye strain is one of the limiting factors. Remembering a new process, etc, etc.
I am hoping all this work will benefit the community. Sadly, I am fully aware that many of the folks displayed will have by now have, passed away. But this is my modest attempt to let us all remember those wonderful, determined, dedicated and skilful people.
As I come to terms with this new AI powered Website Editor. Sometimes, I feel in control. But, there are more questions than answers, at the moment. I face a huge task in front of me. As a rough estimate I have about 50,000 files comprising of photos, audio recordings, etc, etc. The audio recordings are particularly poignant.
Please also remember, that the cameras, lenses, flashgun were what I could afford or were available at the time.
I did not have an unlimited budget, compared to my peers. (Homage to Eric Kitchen )
The audio recordings were done by placing a digital dictation device normally close to a Public Address Speaker.
Often, in a very noisy environment, with no sound deadening curtains or material.
ctmx.net is a finite resource. No unlimited server space, or the number of photos per page is limited by the website editor.
This is going to be a real problem. You can only display 150 photos per page. So events will have to be split into several pages.
If you double click on an image displayed you can enlarge it and reduce the cropping. The uploaded image is not cropped. The website software is the problem.
Also, I have to find a way of displaying the rider or persons name taken from image file name.
Each photo, etc has been named by me. If there is no ID. Perhaps you could email with the correct information.
If you have any programmes , or results you can scan and attach to an email, please do.
It will help me identify missing information. My email is medz@ctmx.net
Kindest Regards. Mike Meadows AKA Medz the snapper.
